RFID Systems

RFID System for Vehicle Monitoring and Traceability

RFID is the acronym for Radio Frequency Identification.

It is a technology based on the use of a small chip attached to an object, through which it is possible to track its location. The tracking range varies significantly depending on the size, type, and antenna of the chip. In simpler systems, the range may be from 2 cm to 13 meters, while in more advanced systems it can reach several kilometers.

Each vehicle will have an RFID tag or label affixed to the windshield, programmed with all the information related to the vehicle and its owner.

At each required intersection, RFID antennas and readers will be installed. These devices will communicate with the database through the middleware, performing tag readings and vehicle identification.

The middleware will communicate with the different control systems.

To prevent traffic congestion, access to certain areas will be restricted.

The system will automatically identify which vehicles are authorized to enter these areas on specific days or at specific times.
